We got married last year and one of the wedding gifts from a cast iron. Neither of us had never used one before. This is not a how to post, thats what google is for.
Each week I make our fave Brussels and Bacon. But Ive seen others on IG make yummy looking dishes in their cast iron pans. So I got creative.
Here is what I used:
cast iron
skinless chicken breasts
head of cabbage
bell pepper
black pepper & sea salt
Coconut amino
olive oil
I had a cabbage in the fridge that I had not used yet and a bell pepper. So I figured they would go great with some pan seared chicken.
I preheat the oven to 450. Then I drizzled some olive oil in the cast iron and pan seared the chicken breasts for a few minutes on each side. I also used some black pepper and sea salt.
Once they were seared I removed them. I scored the cabbage in 4 pieces and sliced the pepper. I added them to the pan and placed the chicken back on top. I placed it in the oven and cooked it for 30 minutes.
The house smelled amazing and so was the chicken and roasted cabbage! I am obsessed with coconut amino from Coconut Secrets and I drizzled some on top of mine.
So if you have a cast iron laying around, break it out and use it.
