MLB Ballpark Tours

Some people travel to all 50 states, some to all the national parks, we the Cenac’s are knocking out all 30 MLB Parks and tours. We both love to travel. We enjoy baseball, so why not combine the two?

Many stadiums have since changed their bag policy. This bag has come to many games with me and ive had zero issues.

We started this back in 2019.

We were bougie for a day and flew from DC to Atlanta to see the Nationals play.

They have built up around the park so we grabbed dinner at one of the local restaurants. The Braves kicked off the game with a marching band starting outside the stadium. It also happened to be a night they were honoring some of the Hall of Famers so they drove in on corvettes waving. It was cool to see.

When we travel to new stadiums we like to sit in unique seats. Its all about the experience. I always remember the seats we had in Atlanta. Ryan will tell me it was right field, I think it was center field but either way they were great seats. We had a bar top with a charging station and someone would come by with drinks or food if you wanted it. The view was great and you felt close to the outfielders. Nothing blocks your view and you can see the whole field. Of course I don’t have a picture of us in our seat but trust me you want to sit below the Chop.

Two traditions my husband has started at these games is getting the soft serve ice cream in the baseball cap. He is slowly collecting all the plastic caps from each stadium and will someday make a wall feature in the man cave with them. Second tradition is he has managed to get a game day ball at several of the parks. Whether it be a foul ball, batting practice ball or a player tossing one into the crowd!

We also have been taking a tour of most of the stadiums. Now that we have toured several, I think the layout, walkthrough and experience, Atlanta’s tour is the best.

The wall behind Ryan is all bats and the tour was a large Shrine to Hank Aaron. I actually filmed a boomerang video of Ryan shaking his head alongside this giant bobble head and I wish I had the video still!!!

I thought this was such a cool picture made out of baseballs.

I cannot find pictures but we did get to sit in the dugout and walk on the dirt not grass of the field. They told us all about the intricate water system under the grass to keep it looking its best.

We stayed at a local Marriott by the ballpark. You literally walk out the back of the hotel and there is a bridge you walk over right to the stadium. So it is perfect if you have a night game and it goes into extra innings. You don’t have to wait for an Uber or walk very far to get back to your hotel.

I mentioned we were Bougie for a day because the next day after our tour we hopped on a plane and headed to Naples for a vacay!

Pittsburg is such a cute intimate stadium and a great place for a baseball game.

We also visited Pittsburgh in October of 2019. While I can’t remember the exact seats we had, the stadium is not large so there is literally no bad seat in the house. Its very intimate and the crowd was great.

I don’t know if its just all weekend nights or nights after a win but they let off fireworks just outside the stadium along the river. Also they shut the bridge down to cars so all the pedestrians can walk across it going and leaving the stadium.

My happy husband with a game day ball and his ice cream helmet to add to the collection. The tour was cool. Smaller and shorter than some other tours but they had a small room with the original lockers and other cool memorabilia. We also got to sit in the dugout and walk on the dirt alongside the field.

Washington Nationals is our local team and happens to be the team Ryan cheers for.

While we have been to countless games, Ryan many more than me, we have never done a stadium tour. But he has attended several events here. No matter what, its a great ball park and certainly family friendly. So If you are ever visiting DC, I recommend seeing a game.

Its always extra fun with the Red Sox ( the team I cheer for) are in town.

The 2019 season, Ryan went to every home playoff game with friends. The Nats made it to the WORLD SERIES!!! Ryan attended all 3 home games. I went to game 5. While they lost all 3 home games they won the world series on the road!!!

So of course we went to the parade.

This lady made a costume to represent the trophy. I think she got overwhelmed by the amount of people who wanted a picture with her. It was also interesting seeing her navigate the metro and escalators wearing it.

Orioles park is a family friendly ballpark and great place to see a game.

Before I moved to Maryland, my family and I would come down to Inner Harbor for a long weekend and go to all 3 Red Sox Orioles games. We have never done a tour here but its close enough we can add that soon plus Ryan needs to get a plastic helmet to add to his collection.

Ryan and I have also been to this stadium a handful of times for a game many years ago usually when my Red Sox were in town.

We were such baby faces back then…..

Miami Marlins MLB Park

June 2021 we took a trip to Florida for our anniversary weekend. We stayed at the Marriott Turnberry in Miami. We took a cab one night to the game. While we did not get to do a tour of the stadium, Ryan did get a plastic ice cream helmet and a baseball at the game!

I will say the stadium was practically empty. Ryan said its because the team stinks. So if you want to see a game for cheap when you visit Miami, this is the place for you.

Historic Fenway Park

The home of my beloved Red Sox. While I have been to countless games here, I had never done a tour until 2022. The tours are great because you get to see parks of the ballpark, press rooms and more things you would never have access to by attending a game. Plus you learn more about the history of the stadium, players and more.

We learned how the community fought to keep FENWAY where it is and become a historic landmark. We also saw a veggie garden that is used for food at the stadium and given back to the community.

While we have not had the chance to sit on the Green Monster yet, we did get to go up to the seats.

Most of the stadiums we get to see the press box or radio room and often sit in the seats. Its cool to see where the announcer’s sit. You finish the tour is a massive room full of memorabilia.

Ryan of course wanted a picture with the 2019 Nationals World Series Ball

Its a classic old stadium. The seats are small and cramped but its nostalgic and a must visit for any baseball fan!

Historic Wrigley Stadium Home of the Cubs

So over the years we have ventured to many stadiums following the Red Sox or Nationals. Back in June of 2012 we visited Chicago. Its such a fun place to visit in the summer time. While there we went to a Red Sox game.

Of course this is before we started doing tours. However we have a plan to visit the White Sox and do a tour of their stadium at some point. While there we will venture back to Wrigley for a tour. So its on the list!

Philadelphia the City of Love and home of the Phillies

July 2021 we went to 2 back to back Nationals Vs Phillies games with our friend Ivan who lives in Philly. We need to go back and do a tour but its another great stadium to visit.

We will have to make a trip back to Philly for a tour and so Ryan can get a plastic helmet. Fun fact when we first started taking our friendship to the next level Ryan took me to Philly for a surprise weekend and officially asked me to be his girlfriend!!!!

YANKEE STADIUM

While in New York this past weekend, (September 2024)it as our first time inside Yankee Stadium. To us its a concrete jungle and does not feel like a ballpark. They played the Red Sox and sadly the sox lost. It was still fun. We sat in the Delta club on the 200 level. While food was not free, drinks were. Also it turned out to be a nice day but if it was extremely hot day or raining you could sit inside the AC and watch through all the glass windows.

Most of the stadium tours range from $20-$50 per person for a tour. Yankees during the season while the team is home wanted $150 pp!!!! So we will go back during the offseason for a tour.

After the game we walked around to the outfield for these two pics before security kicked us out lol! I guess they wanted to go home after the game.

New York Mets

It was back to back ballpark days for us in New York. We hit up Yankee stadium on Sunday and on Monday we went to Citi Field. We did do a tour for the Mets.

We had a morning tour and our tour guide George was great. A true baseball fanatic a great sense of humor and lots of player stories to tell.

Its always fun to get to walk around the outside of the field. Similar to Atlanta they have an underground water system to help heat and keep the grass looking green all year long.

I got to pick up the bullpen phone and actually hear it ring!!!!

It may be hard to tell from the picture. But the giant parking lot is where the old Shea Stadium was. In fact the truck is sitting on home plate. You can see white triangles around the truck showing first, second, third and home plate. Our tour guide told us that sometimes on game days you see fans out there running the old bases!

While we did not get to see the giant apple launched into the air for a home run, I did get my picture with the old apple from Shea Stadium. It sits out in front of the new Citi Field. Fun fact it takes 90 seconds for the new apple with all the technology to reset so if there are back to back home runs there is a delay in launching the apple.

The Mets really have an inclusive facility. They have a section for breast feeding moms to go where it is more quiet to feed their babies. On the same level they have a sensory area for kids who need a quieter environment. It has a light up tank with floating fish, they have sensory chairs and more items they bring out with textiles to help those kids who are feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated. They also have noise canceling headphones kids can wear too.

I usually do not eat at ballparks. However this stadium not only has a coffee bar with gluten free goodies but a make your own salad section!

The coolest part was the Jackie Robinson Rotunda. There is even a cool picture from 1954 of Jackie Robinson and Dr. Martin Luther King getting their honorary doctorate from Howard University at the same time.

There was a room that had memorabilia on the first level. As we went up in levels there are lots of pictures and baseball cards of players. Of course I had to take a picture of the card with Pedro.

Ryan had fun in the main press room. We did get to see the upstair press boxes and media rooms.

We came back at night for the Mets Vs Nats game. We did sit in the swanky Cadillac Lounge. My husband is a ninja at finding things for great prices and scored these tickets for much less than they usually go for. Again we like to sit in those unique seating experiences. You are basically at ground level in the outfield.

They did have unlimited food and drinks free in the lounge as part of your ticket. The coolest part was we had our own entrance with a secret door. In order to enter you have to knock or say GO METS. Ryan was like a kid in a candy store happy when he got to knock on the door. He also got another helmet to add to his collection.

While his team also lost, we had a lot of fun.

We are already looking at the summer 2025 schedule and both the Red Sox and Nationals will be in California. So we are going to see if we can hit all 4 stadiums and see both teams play.
