Protein Packed Ranch Dip

Protein Dip

I have been loving this protein packed ranch dip the last few weeks. I love a crunch (carrots, celery, cucumber) and they taste even better with this dip. It’s a twist on regular ranch dip. Its got a nice tang, but I have been making it a bit thicker, plus its a fraction of the calories and fat and no preservatives.

Here is what you need:

  • 3 cans (5-oz. each) chicken breast, well-drained
  • 2 Tbsp. reduced-fat (2%) plain Greek yogurt (I used dairy free coconut yogurt)
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh chives
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh dill
  • 2 Tbsp. coarsely chopped onion (I omitted I don’t like onion)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • ¼ tsp. sea salt (or Himalayan salt)
  • ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 dash ground smoked paprika

**** I substitute 12 oz. baked chicken breast for canned chicken breast. I just cut into chunks and boiled the chicken first. If the dip comes out a little dry, just drizzle in a tsp. of water at a time, with the blender running, until the desired consistency is achieved. I also added more dijon mustard for more of a tang****

 

1. Place chicken, yogurt, chives, dill, onion, garlic, mustard, salt, pepper, and paprika in food processor (or blender); pulse for 1 to 2 minutes, or until smooth and creamy.

Once its made you can dip your fave veggies (celery, carrots, cucumber) and dip them in its so good.

A serving size is 1/4 cup. If you are in my Fit For Life group and follow our portion control eating plan its 1 red.

I made this twice last week. It was a perfect mid afternoon snack. Another day I did a gluten free open faced turkey sandwich and had this as a dip on the side for my veggies.
